It's HOT in HATTA

So, we we've been trying to go off roading for the last four days and today we finally made our way out to the desert. I can't understand why people would choose to live in these remote areas, where it's just rocks and sand... But, people DO live out there. So our ride out was a route that John selected from www.offroaduae.com. We took route 6 'Hatta Pools' It's the hottest month of the summer, so the pools were at a minimun level... and we were sad to see so much litter and graffiti. The drive was a true test of the ability of our 4x4 and thankfully, it passed the test with flying colors. We ate at the Hatta Fort Hotel and it was very good and VERY quiet. Unfortunately, the clay shooting, the putt put, the River Pool and the archery recreational facilities were not in working order. So we were glad we didn't chose to stay the night there. Then we got lost, and after a half hour of wandering, we found a cop who escorted us to the right road. Nice guy. It was a rough ride and there was a few moments where I thought for sure there wouldn't be any road on the other side of the hills we were going up... but there always was. You may notice that I've taken quite a few pictures of plants... I live in the desert and I am having vegetation withdrawls. So sue me! So I won't bore you with more details, just take a gander at the photos and know that after our long day, we came home to enjoy some pasta with shrimp... yum!
